Join The Live! Holiday Challenge

This is your chance to enjoy the holidays even more while keeping the pounds off!  If that isn’t enough, you have a chance to win a $50 gift card – just in time for holiday shopping!

The holidays can be a wonderful time of the year to connect with family and friends. It is also an opportunity to overindulge on the many scrumptious treats we usually don’t see the rest of year.  Unfortunately, this leads to adding on average four pounds of additional fat that we hold onto forever!  So, the Live! program is introducing a Holiday Health Challenge!  This holiday challenge will help you keep off the pounds while enjoying your holiday season even more.  You can sign up for challenges in three different categories:

  • Eat Mindfully
  • Move
  • Enhance Relationships

Once you register and the challenge begins, you will receive daily emails that allow you to enter your performance on the challenges for that day.

Mission:

ICL, DSU, the City of St. George, and Intermountain Health have teamed together to develop a program called Live Long. Live Well. (Also referred to as Live!) The purpose of this program is to help people 50 and over in Washington County to maximize their health, longevity and well-being. We plan to connect members to programs that will contribute to physical, cognitive, social and emotional health, and promote longevity.

Program Developments:

Live Long. Live Well. (Live! for short) is becoming a reality. We are adding new program features as quickly as we can develop them. We launched our first co-sponsored event on June 21st, International Yoga Day. Along with our cosponsors, we provided five different yoga events at Vernon Worthen park. Over 100 people attended.

Healthy Habits Awards

The Healthy Habits group is sharing with the Live! program restaurants they have identified as offering healthy food options. Out of about 25 restaurants that applied, seven were selected by nutritionists and awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze Healthy Habits awards.
